Whoa! That was some party. This should tell you not to drink and drive. In this case the beer didn’t start flowing until after the wreck.
The story goes:
Highway 401 in Mississaugua (Canada, I believe) was closed on May 11, 2005 after an accident that spilled 2,184 cases of Grolsch beer. A woman driving a car, swerved out of her lane and into the path of a Molson beer truck, causing the truck to roll over and the car to flip. One officer described the scene as “a sea of beer”. The woman’s life was most likely saved by her seatbelt and airbag. The beer was a gonner.
Either way, that’s a large mess to clean-up, dangerous too with all that broken glass.

In my previous post I was wondering how in the world to change the icons on my Google Toolbar. Then Greg gave me exactly what I was looking for in the comments!
Before he gave me the solution my Google Toolbar looked like this:
After the solution, it looks like this:
EXACTLY WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR IN THE SOLUTION!
For anyone that’s interested and has these same icons in their toolbar, here’s the Base64 code you’ll need to paste into the configuration.

I’m a big fan of Google and one of the products of theirs that I use regularly is the Google Toolbar. I’ve started customizing it more than just accepting the standard set of icons that they recommend, but I’ve run into a bit of a snag.
As you can see from the image above, I’ve got three icons that are all the same, but they’re for three different things.
Does anyone know how in the world I can change the icon that’s being displayed there?
It’s really annoying. I want to achieve something like Facebook uses (the icon next to them) that makes it really easy to see which button I need at a glance. As it stands right now I’ve got to remember,
“Okay was twitter the 2nd icon? Wait, no I added one for GoDaddy, was it the first or 3rd?..No, TinyURL was in there first…..arrggh!”
To help me keep my sanity, will someone please help me with this little problem?

This may be a little basic for some of our readers, but I thought I’d take a minute and talk about some Internet security for a minute. As this site is dedicated to uncovering great stuff on the Internet, we’re also aware that there’s plenty of opportunities to uncover some less than stellar sites and programs as well. One of these dangers is called “phishing”.
In our context, phishing is defined as:
“Phishing” is a form of Internet fraud that aims to steal valuable information such as credit cards, social security numbers, user IDs and passwords. From Digitalstrategy.govt.nz
and the security website F-Secure defines it as follows:
In a computing context, Phishing is an impersonation of a corporation or other trusted institution. The goal of the impersonation is to extract passwords or other sensitive information from the victim. It is a form of criminal activity that utilizes social engineering techniques.
If you’re not familiar with the term your question is probably along the lines of how you really tell the counterfeit from the real-deal?
Let’s look at an example of a phishing message impersonating the popular online payment website, PayPal.com.

If you’ve been around the Internet and Tubes for long you probably recognize emoticons when you see them. ;)
I use one in my design and communications company ” =) Bnpositive Design”. But they’re getting so old now don’t you think?
Let’s move to a new way to describe, not your emotions, but your fellow social media fiends friends. I received this from a friend via e-mail and thought I’d share.
You’ll have to excuse these, but they’re funny.

What would happen if what we’ve come to expect as normal when using social media apps like Facebook actually happened in the real world?

Do you ever get to the end of your day and wonder where all those minutes and hours went in your day?
What were you doing? Did you really spend that long on Facebook? eBay? Solitaire?
Maybe you’re being really productive and you need to know exactly how much time you were spending on developing that website.
RescueTime uncovers all of that information for you.
RescueTime is a web-based time-management tool that allows you to easily understand how you spend your time. One of the coolest things about RescueTime is that there is NO DATA ENTRY. You install a doohicky on your computer and we magically track all of your time usage. For more info, check out the product tour.
RescueTime sounds like a really interesting application. I wish could find out more information from their website on exactly what installing the “doohicky” involves. I’m not a big fan of adding yet one more application or service to run on my computer throughout the day. It would be interesting if it were a toolbar add-on or potentially integrated into what’s available within the operating system itself.

When I bought my wife her laptop I wanted to make sure she had a good bag to go with it. I wanted a bag that gave her plenty of room for cords and accessories, while remaining stylish as well.
It’s too bad at that point I hadn’t heard of Mobile Edge.
They have bags and purses in loads of different styles and functions. They also have some nice accessories that would come in handy for people on the go as well.
Mobile Edge was created by a group of senior computer industry professionals for the sole purpose of producing superior computer-related carry cases. In this increasingly mobile world we live in, the case that you carry reflects upon who you are. Just as people are proud of the watch on their wrist, we want them to be proud of the case that they carry.
If all this wasn’t enough, you can also use the coupon code B5Media and receive 15% off your order. Now that’s a nice discount!
Save some money. Get a bag. Visit Mobile Edge now!

Google has added quite a few new themes to their options for their personalized iGoogle homepage. Including a number of great looking ones from some famous artists.
My favorite though is this new sunlight earth calendar. I just like the idea of seeing how the available sunlight changes depending on the time locally and what parts of the world are dark.
It’s even more interesting when you’ve got clients and friends all over the world that you begin communicating with more and more via e-mail, IM and twitter.
Very cool. What’s your personalized homepage look like? What greets you every time you open your browser?
