Uncover The Internet

Back to Biology 101 - Virtual Dissection Lab

I had originally planned on being a high school biology teacher when I was pursuing my college education. I loved everything about biology, it was the chemistry that bugged me.

Remember your grade school biology class the first time you got to dissect a frog? My fondest memory is that we knocked the frog out with ether and dissected him alive so we could see everything working inside. That was all said and good until he decided to wake-up mid class and flopped around on the teacher’s desk with his guts hanging out.

Those days may be long and over nowadays though (and the PETA folks cheered) with Flash players and online demos. With sites like froguts.com you can virtually dissect all of those favorite animals from biology classes of old.

You even get to do all the pinning, cutting and slicing as well. Very educational if I do say so myself. My old biology teacher, Mr. Scott, would be proud.

Hmmm, I wonder if I had been able to combine my love for biology with technology, would I be a teacher now instead of a full-blown geek?
