BrowserShots - Testing Web Design

by Jason Bean on March 12th, 2007

BrowserShots

If you’re a web designer, you’ve probably wondered sometimes what your new design might look like in different browsers. Browsershots.org gives you that ability, without the hassle.

Testing it in the most common browser types isn’t normally too big of a deal, but it’s also testing in older versions or some of the less common browsers that can become more of a challenge, especially for smaller, one-man shops.

Browsershots makes screenshots of your web design in different browsers. It is a free open-source online service created by Johann C. Rocholl. When you submit your web address, it will be added to the job queue. A number of distributed computers will open your website in their browser. Then they will make screenshots and upload them to the central server here.

Give it a try and have your eyes opened to the formatting challenges that can be found when viewing your beautiful spec’d site in more browsers than you’re used to previously.

Kudos to HomeOfficeVoice for uncovering this site for us.
