Office of Civilian Radioactive Waste Management
In the “wouldn’t believe it if I hadn’t seen it” category, I present to you the Office of Civilian Radioactive Waste Management, or OCRWM for short; from the site:
” The Office of Civilian Radioactive Waste Management (OCRWM) is a program of the U.S. Department of Energy assigned to develop and manage a federal system for disposing of spent nuclear fuel from commercial nuclear reactors and high-level radioactive waste from national defense activities.”
Yay! Good times. A few interesting tidbits from the site include the Yucca Mountain Silicosis Screening Program and the Voluntary Protection Program.
